Nitrile rubber outperforms the standard polyethylene foam insulation found on most linesets in several important ways. It has a significantly lower thermal conductivity, meaning less energy loss and better system efficiency. It’s highly resistant to UV exposure, ozone, and weathering, so it holds up whether the lineset runs indoors, outdoors, or through a crawlspace. It’s also inherently resistant to moisture absorption, which matters in humid climates where cheaper insulation can become waterlogged and lose its insulating properties over time.
